  18. Yes, I received an email from someone else who has been in contact with 
  19. MacroSystems as well, and he said the same thing.  Unfortunately, no one 
  20. seems to know when it will finally be available... :-/  But most people 
  21. including some Amiga dealers have told me  it is "unlikely" to happen.

  30. I haven't had the Retina board that long but for example, I do find even 
  31. a 256 colour Workbench slow...probably because it is actually processing 
  32. in 24bit anyway.  Jpegs and Gifs view maybe 5-10 times faster than ECS/HAM 
  33. viewers on the Amiga side though.  I've also heard very good things about 
  34. the Retina Z2 when used with ShapeShifter (the soft. Mac Emul.).  The 
  35. reason why the Retina is slower than Picasso and Retina Z3 is because 
  36. those boards have a blitter while the Retina Z2 does not.  Hmmmm....I 
  37. wonder if we can still have a special deal on upgrading to the Z3 Retina 
  38. which is 3-5 times faster than a PicassoII. :)

  40. Despite its slowness in some operations, the Retina does have some 
  41. advantages over the other cards (like higher rez. 24bit screens, VERY 
  42. configurable, etc.) so it would be nice to see a speed increase via CyberGFX!

  44. Of course, Retina speed could also be dependent on your CPU.  I'm running an 
  45. Amiga 3000/16Mhz 2meg chip/4meg fast.  What are you running?

  48. soon!  BTW, have you made any of your own screens with Define Monitor?  I 
  49. have a C=1950 monitor, and occasionally will have to manually adjust the 
  50. screens but Define Monitor is supposed to fix this?

  52. No...I still haven't RTFM!  Well not fully anyway...haven't printed it 
  53. out yet.  It's in Amiga Guide format.
